The War of the Ring was a legendary conflict in Tolkien's legendarium, and it became even more legendary when Peter Jackson created a movie trilogy that has been the fantasy awakening for many a young man/woman. The books and movies differ on many points, but the makeup of the Fellowship is always as solid as bedrock. The ringbearer, Frodo. A hobbit with no true dreams of adventure save what his uncle Bilbo had told him finds himself in the adventure to define an age. Samwise, his loyal gardener who was so loyal to Frodo that he followed him from the Shire all the way to the fires of Mt.Doom. Frodo's friends Pippin and Merry also joined him on the journey lending their absurd levels of courage to the people who needed them most in their grandest hours. Gandalf the Grey would be the leader of our merry band as it set out on its jorney. Himself being a Wizard of considerable power and knowledge, but he would fall and leave the role of leader to another. Aragorn, Ranger of the North and heir to one of the mightiest kingdoms of men in the world. Joining the Fellowship as repersentatives of their races, come Legolas of the Elves, Gimli of the Dwarves, and Boromir of the Kingdom to which Aragorn claims regency.
